    Default Drop in K&N filter

I installed the drop in K&N air filter into my 3.8 when it had less then 400 miles on it. I didnt notice any major gains in power but it might be do to the lack of seat time with the car before hand. Although it did seem to have a slight improvement on gas mileage. Either way it will improve airflow no matter what and you cant beat a million mile lifetime warranty. When I took out the stock filter I was surprised by how much thinner the K&N unit was, probably have the thickness. To that effect it has to be an improvement to some effect, definitely worth the $50 or so. I couldn't find the filter at any local auto stores so I ordered mine from genracer.com or you could try genesistuners.com.

    Hey guys,

Installed a KN filter, in my GC 3.8' and runs great, plus I ma getting an extra 5-8HP! Not much but it sound nice and throaty. Just one question when opening the air filter box to clean and replace my KN, I noticed that there is a filter screwed into the filter head. Does anyone know if it is possible to remove it, I notice a few screws that keep it attached.
