weird...I definitely have a lot of buildup on mine.
yeah, the soot does seem to higher for the 2.0's, it's not a big deal but I was just curious more than anything.

So is the "PCU" the PowerAxel V6 Reflash? Great gains! I'd like to get mine flashed soon too.

remember guys Red did say it was a custom flash... Arvin, was it custom or was it one of your standard/stage1 flashes?

I'm not sure what the "PowerAxel V6 reflash" is. I was told they removed the "PCU" (Power Control Unit) then sent it to California to be updated/performance modified for "MY" car. Custom job. The shop in California knew what the shop in Jersey was doing so they modified the "PCU" accordingly to maximize the performance improvement on my Coupe.
FYI, the place in California needed to get revised specs as my car was so new (late model built in late 2009), they had to contact Korea to get updated specs. Once they received them, the "PCU" was updated and sent overnight mail back to New Jersey where my shop put it back in and then "updated" to result in great Horse Power and Torque gains.
OK, back to work for me...You all have a great day and good luck on any perfoemance improvements "you" choose to do. I know what I did and what I got in return, and shared it here.

Hi Codefox,
Yes, if you do exactly what I did and if I remember correctly you live in Jersey so you have the option the same shop I did (or another similar reputable shop), I would feel confident that you will be very happy with the results and likely beat your friends Mustang GT.
OK, now back to work for me... I keep playing around here and this doesn't help pay the bills, but I do enjoy sharing what I learned through experience and actually "doing it"...

First of all a flash is just that reflashing a new program or parameter set to your current ECU/PCU... nothing special there shoot even the dealership does this on a daily basis. According to Arvin his PCU was sent to him in California... If I understood everything correctly and after rereading the first post it says flat out he has a PowerAxel Stage 1 Flash!

I looked at my invoice and it has a line item that states "POWERAXEL TUNE STAGE 1 FLASH". Sorry for any confusion, but as I stated several times, I'm not a mechanic, just a finaicial guy. He said he did not put a "chip" in and I would interpret a POWERAXEL Flash as a chip. If it's not, then I stand corrected. If I had the time to hang around, maybe i could learn more, but I'm pretty busy so I will try to pop in now and then but I think I can "close the loop" on this and walk away with the facts clearly stated.
BTW, even Jim the Grynch can make mistakes.
Jim, may I suggest you re-read/review the dyno sheet I provided. How many additional HP? You intpreted the results as 47 additional and "flat out" ! stated that on your post. Is it really 47? These "easy to read" (I don't find them easy to read... at least not initially... until you look at them a while and try to really get a grasp of what is HP, what is torque, Run 1 vs Run 5, color coded, RPM etc...
Please look at run 1 vs. Run 5. 243 HP in run 1 and 286 HP in run 5.
Now my finacial acumen can come into play- 286 minus 243 = 43.
Later guys and gals (at least I hope there is a female Genesis enthusiast),

I'm very impressed by your gains! I'm trying to talk to Arvin so I can get my v6 flashed soon!
