Wow...well, thanks Red for putting up with us skeptics. I am convinced though. I'd love to do this and then blow away my friend's Mustang GT at the track!

Thanks for the support Codefox. I know what the car feels like and the numbers basically prove a "substantial" increase in both HP and tourque... I'm confident that anyone that does exactly what I did will see between 35 and 45 HP or torque increase. I guess the actual number will depend on your exact vehicle as my car was such a late model that the place in California that programmed the PCU (my PCU was removed and sent to California for updating) had to get revised specs from Korea as mine was so new.

snoopy0812, to answer your question, my gas mileage has gone up by approx 2 mpg from 22 to 24. Yes, a nice increase but no sheets to prove it, just my experience. I noticed the increase immediately. I drive the same route and in the same fashion and didn't even realize I would get a gas mileage increase until I noticed it and spoke to the shop and they confirmed I should see an increase in Gas mileage as the engine "breaths" more freely and doesn't need as much gas to move the car as quick. BTW, This is reflective of mostly highway and relatively hard driving. I suppose if I constantly nailed the car, I would not see an increase, but too much power for that. I'm already hitting 65 mph quick enough and don't want any speeding tickets.

Not sure what you mean by "soot" though...

Although our base tune on a completely stock 3.8 has a net gain of approx. 10~15 HP and TQ (91 octane) on both A/T & M/T, our stage 1 tune for the general intake and exhaust system may yield a great performance output.

Well that brings us to our questions Arvin.

What are the differences between your base tune and your stage 1?

Then compare what Red here got installed on his vs both of these...

    Thanks Arvin.

There isn't too much of a difference except that when you have those bolt-on mods, we have to fine tune the timing to adjust air-fuel.

It simply provides for an optimum performance and wakes up the potential of the intake and exhaust.

so I am assuming you lean out the fuel mixture and add more aggressive timing.

I'm a little confused here too. There can't be THAT much difference between a stock 3.8 and one with a intake and exhaust that would make a tune that much more aggressive unless I'm missing something. I wouldn't even really expect much of any gain at all with a CAI since the car already comes with a CAI. How about if you run 93 octane?

    Hello again snoopy0812,

Regarding "soot" on the tailpipe, I ran clean before the upgrade and after. Both this Genesis and my V8 Genesis sedan both run clean and have minimal black "soot" on the end of their respective tail pipes. Is black soot an issue for you? That's why I mentioned my V8 as the V6 coupe produces the same amount of soot as the V8, which I consider almost non-existent.
