Now I am more curious. You paid 1300, for a CAI and a non custom stage I PA reflash? But then your saying you paid for programming? Is it a custom flash or the standard Stage I that you have to send your ECU in to have it reflashed by PA?

Now I know why you call yourself Grynch... The flash was sent out to be customized for my car and run 3 times on the dyno to "teach" itself-makes sense to me. I'm not a mechanic, I'm a financial guy. I can do math and I do have faith in good/honest business people.

43 more HP and when I get a chance I will show this thread to the shop and see if they will dyno it again to "reprove" the Numbers to all of us.

One thing for sure.. The car is night and day as opposed to when I brought it in. It's a totally different animal.

I'll be back once I "re-prove these numbers". My reputation and the reputation of the shop is on the line here..on this forum, for what that's worth...

The poweraxel flash is about $300 and cold air intake from aem is another $275ish. For more than forty horsepower that's a good price for the gains. No doubt!

I have made no personal attacks and would expect you to return the favor. I have stated the facts and asked questions, nothing more. You have made a mistake as you said you purchased the Stage I PA flash and from my understanding of PA's reflashes that is what they call their standard flash, not the custom flash which your claiming to have now. As a side note, its my understanding that PA doesn't offer custom 3.8 reflashes yet (I'll contact, Densetsu (my local PA Supplier) and Arvin to confirm this).

I restate the fact that even Arvin the importer of PowerAxle Products states the max that PA in Korea can get is 15 HP 12LBFT Torque... with out swapping cams. AEM CAI claims 15 HP at most, so your claiming 28 HP from the flash which is 13 more than (which is almost double) what PA claims they can get out of it (again with out swapping out cams)... So your claiming your shop in its first outing is making damn near double what the korean manufacturer is making from their own product after several months of testing!

Wouldn't you question the facts if someone came on and said that they created an exhaust using a known product but claim to make twice the manufacturers numbers? I would hope you would.

Need dynos. But given what the PA guys are saying this is a little far fetched with their off-the-shelf stuff. Does anyone know if that dealer is a certified PA vendor?

Hold your horses people...I'm pretty sure redV6 was misinformed by the shop and/or just didn't express his thoughts correctly. This shop is not our official dealer and have asked us to help their customer with the ECU reflash, in this case redV6.

More so than a custom tune, we just adjusted the timing a little to compensate for the bolt-on mods he had on the car (intake/exhaust) as a standard tune for the 3.8 with similar mods.

Let's not jeopardize anyone's position here - I have yet to receive the dyno result of redV6's 3.8 from this tuning shop.

is it a gain of 43hp in in a specific range or final HP ratings? i have seen plenty of times where you pic up a ton of midrange but at the top you only get a little.


so again at the top or just "somewhere" on the curve?
