    Default ???? OilFilter for the 3.8L ????

Any confirmed leads on oil filter availability for my 3.8L GC?
I have not been able to locate a filter anywhere!

I just don't want to feel like I have to buy this item from a dealer & I find it hard to believe that all you motorheads are willing to have Hyundai change your oil.
There must be someone out there who carries this filter!!!

Is this a screw-on filter or is it a cartridge that goes inside of a cannister assembly?
I can't locate the filter from the top side & the underside is covered by all that plastic shrouding. Without a lift, it looks like an oil change is a big pain in the butt!

    G) went out to the garage and took a look.
oil filter looks like a cannister, front of motor right side and under car.
you have to remove two belly pans, looks easy.
whitout a lift it would be a bitch to get a drain pan under the car.
    a jack would do..
    good luck.

ooohhhhh..... I hate those type of oil filters!
I have one in my Cadillac & it is a pain in the ass.

I appreciate the info. I may just take the lazy way out & let the dealer do it.

Hyundai did post a TSB regarding aftermarket oil filters, don't know if this affects the 3.8 or not but on the 2.0T the filter screw on spot is shaped a bit different and a hole gets plugged but quite a few different companies oil filters, because they thought an EVO filter would work and it was apparently causing issues.
