Just an update.. .I have had mine for about 4 weeks and let me tell you I love it. There is way more "noticeable" gains. I don't care what a Dyno would say... I can feel it on so many levels. Coupled with my K&N filter and running 93 octane, I can really feel the difference. I think what is happening, it's not so much an increase in power, although there is peak improvement, but even better, your HP and Torque is served up smoother and where you need it. For me the car was scary before, now if is crazy scary! My sons even noticed something different. Just for the sound when starting it up and giving it a little gas and that nice little burp the exhaust does is almost on it's own worth it.
If they come out with a NSPP-2, I will be first to get it.
So if you are on the fence, you want a quick and super easy mod, you have the cash.. then get it!!!!! I may next go for the CAI in the summer... then look out!
Before dyno's nobody could verify if a part actually increased power or not. If it doesn't make power on a dyno it doesn't make any power you can feel. I'm not knocking the product at all, but saying you don't care what a dyno sheets says is like saying you don't care about facts...
Smoother torque? The torque curve of the 3.8 is pretty smooth, or flat, from the factory. The NSPP will actually make it less smooth since it gives more gains down low...
Crooked, for me if I Dyno'd and it said there was 20 more HP but I could not feel it I would be pissed. What I am saying, and maybe I am one of the lucky ones, my 3.8 really demonstrates a real difference. It sounds different, it even sounds way better when I start it up in the morning. I am very in tune with my cars... I think some times too much in tune. In my opinion, and maybe I am lucky, my NSPP demonstrates real value and performance improvement. If you look on a few other forums, you will see the growing numbers of those who feel the same. At the end of the day, I paid for it, I judge it and it passes end of story. Oh and I have looked at the Dynos, one just needs to understand them as it seems there are a few posters who seem to have an ax to grind with RR.
The Nspp is not a fail according to what I been able to get. Too many people expect way to much out of an ecu tune for a V6. Without uping the RPM's you will see an average gain. Most won't be willing to up the RPM's to 7500rpm I bet. That's where you will see 20-30 whp. That will also cost more.
Another tune that auto owners are sleeping on is the valve body upgrade. U want to feel max power out of all your little inexpensive tunes? Try pushing for the valve body job.
