Arrow Remote Mount Turbo V6 Genesis Coupe

Check out this awesome Genesis Coupe that was shown at SEMA 2009 this year. They have taken the Hyundai 3.8L V6 and added a remote mounted turbo at the rear of the Genesis Coupe.

wouldn't that extra weight help balance the 3.8?

just thought of something.. couldn't when the turbo is screaming hot.. couldn't a rock or something fly up and crack the snail? or well cause that part of your car isn't designed for that much heat, couldn't it catch fire or melt loads of stuff?

That is definitely not a street car... one big bump and goodbye turbo. Maybe 4, 5 inches of clearance?!

Good to see someone did it though!

There is more than 4 or 5 inches of clearance and plenty of cars run this type of setup on the street. I have maybe 2 inches of clearance on my downpipe and I never scrape it, you just have to relearn how to drive a low car.

They couldve fabricated some sort of underbody shielding like used in rally motorsports etc.... to protect the underbody but I think it was left exposed for the SEMA show.

Thats one of the purposes of remote mount... They run alot cooler and the air has alot more time to cool down on the way up to the engine. The intake temperature is much lower on them.
