i currently have 4-5" of clearance on my car and every speed bump i pass on, the exhaust hit. but seriously that a really nice setup
Yeah, I asked some of my buddies about this kind of turbo and yeah usually they will have some sort of shield over it or per say under it, yeah my first thought was fuck that thing would be ripped the fuck off easy but usually a protective skid plate is "protecting" it. Anyone know how beneficial it could be to have one of these.

hey guys, I know im noob status and all but check out STS turbo. I've been following up these guys and rep is amazing! Im heavily debating on going twin turbo on the 380!
So trying to understand the system, that one pipe coming from out of the frame (top left) to the snail in pics 2 and 3 is from the intake mounted by the rear!? im guessing its not intercooled though? interesting idea but doesnt seem very practical by adding all the piping.
Hehe YouTube sts turbo... There's no lag there!!!
So many questions and concerns. :D
The turbo doesn't have an incredible amount of lag. We're still working on a few bugs and getting the tuning done. One issue is trying to keep couplers on the MAF tubing.
The turbo sits slightly above where the stock exhausts sit, so clearances shouldn't be an issue unless you have some killer speed bumps where you live.
Yes, it has an intercooler, but it's mainly for show. Adding an intercooler to this system is pretty much pointless and will add some lag.
Dyno sheet so far during tuning process @ 7psi:
We'll most likely set the tune for a 8psi and a 10psi setup to allow you to choose. Since this system doesn't have to remove any of the catalytic converters, we're pretty sure that it'll be carb legal. Still researching into that though.
So where do I sign up?
if an intercooler is pretty much pointless this would be a great sleeper kit.

If you go to the STS website all of your questions should be answered. There is supposedly zero turbo lag, and the actual distance of the piping only reduces the PSI into the intake by fractions of a pound. but the turbo system actually runs considerably cooler to the intake anyway which makes up for any miniscule drop in psi. And no a rock will not crack the turbo. you would have to have that thing glowing white hot for that to be a problem. and even if you could manage to get the turbo that hot, your gas tank would blow up first. it seems like a sound system for the money, just kinda sucks that the gen has been out this long and there are still no forced induction kits available that are application specific. Everybody who is working on parts for the v6 says that they are "close", and will have the parts released "within a couple of months" but if you look at the dates of the posts they are all in like april. Yeah sucks that there isnt much offered yet on such a beautiful platform, but are you willing to pay 6,500 for a supercharger kit thats almost ready and you have to order from korea? or 4 grand for a twin turbo kit built in utah?
