Default CP-E downpipe install pics and review

Ok, figured I'd share my experiences with this. I ordered the catless version and had a wideband bung welded in. The part itself is a HUGE weight savings from the stock piping with 2 cats. Word of advice: the bolts comming out of the turbo to the downpipe get the thread a lil messed up. Heat from the turbo kinda warped it. So.. Have a threading tool handy to re- thread them. Other than that, everything went pretty smoothly. What I am still having an issue with is trying to get my check engine light to go away. I added 2 different spacers, one I bought, and one that cp-e ended up sending me. This last time I thought I had the right combo, but I guess not. Here's some pics of the install. One of the guys in our service bay was nice enough to put my car on the lift and break the bolts for me.

Almost forgot: sound-wise... HUGE difference. I can hear a lot more spoolage, and can feel my car "exhaling" smoother. Top end the car opens up a lot more. Sound is a lil raspy, but I am still running stock cat back, so after I get the full turbo back sound will be pretty darn nice. Not raspy at all.

Sickk tiff, its Ivan, I decided to join since I'm always looking thru here, I might be getting an R-Spec december, if I can get down payment help from my aunt lol. And as far as the engine light you probably need it reset by the computer, one of my managers just did a custom exhaust and an injen intake for the 3.8 GT the intake set off the like kuz of the maf sensor and that's how we got rid of it. I'll ask one of the mechanics if that's all you needa do. What other projects do you have planned?

Ugh, I do reset the computer. But there's such a small window of error to work with on this car u have to find the exact spacer combo to make it work. And please Ivan, don't get yet another car just to get it repo'ed 3 months later. Don't do that to this car please.

Lawl no way in hell I'd let that happen, but the little itty bitty saturn I'm in now is so beat... And we both know that happened kuz I like you had lazy work ethics xD I'm solid in the dealer and I'm getting it given away to me =] but it all depends on the credit + what they need me to put down.. Damn first time buyer non-sense.

Edit: By reset via computer I didn't mean you unplugging the battery, the tech that did the intake plugged the comp into the car but it could just be the spacer issue.

using the gds will not help...resetting the ecu via the gds or by unplugging it is the same

you can also just pull the ecu fuse....or disconnect the ground and put your foot on the brake for 30-60 seconds

btw that looks very nice and easy to install...thos motor has a ton of room!

Awesome tiff the 3" should have really opened things up! You can ask BAM from e haustoria depot about tricking the o2s. He's got that all figured out too.

Not true I have the reflash and still get the cel. Let me know what BAM has to say. I guess I was one of tbd lucky ones with the studs on the turbo, I've taken it apart twice and still no problems. Which catback are you gonna get?
