Wow. I've yet to hear any problems like this. Hopefully they get it fix quickly for you. Please let us know what happens.
So over the past few weeks I've noticed my Gen Coupe was sputtering when I would lightly press on the throttle then it would drop into gear really heavy and accelerate. I also noticed the issue was intermittent. It bothered me but I thought maybe the cars just breaking in a bit. Today while making a U-Turn I lightly pressed on the gas and the RPM shot up to about 4000 the "SLAM" the transmission kicked in and the tires squealed. I quickly regained control and drove straight to the dealer.
Upon arrival I noticed another Gen coupe. Went in and spoke to an adviser who let me take the head mechanic for a ride. With in the first minute of driving the tranny sputtered and slammed in to gear. The mechanic then said "no, no, no, thats not normal" We then sat down with the supervisor who said he would need the car over night. I said ok signed the paper work and waited for my ride.
While waiting I ran into the other Gen Coupes owner who said he had the same issue with his car only his AT stalled and sputtered repeatedly and he only had his car for a week. We then spoke to the tow truck guy who said he had picked up 3 other Gen coupes this week with the same issue.
So after much aggravation my cars at the dealer and hopefully this issue which seems to be turning into a epidemic will be solved. Anyone else had this issues or heard of anything like this? Any opinions on what it could be?

So im thinking its an issue with the Drive by Wire, what do you guys think?
Yeah man It seems to be a big issue with the Automatic 2.0T. Ive found alot of people over the past day with the same issues. I suggest getting into a dealer ASAP. The more Hyundai sees the sooner they will recall or come up with a fix.
As of now Im am being told it maybe due to the drive by wire system not working in sync with the tranny but there is no reflash out yet that will fix it. Ill keep you guys posted.
Just spoke to the service adviser..........looks like im getting a new tranny on a car with 2000 miles. I plan on claiming lemon law. Any advice?

Sorry to hear about your situation Quickrabbit. I hope they can come up with a solution for this so it doesn't get out of hand.
I see where you're coming at with the lemon law subject. I would feel the same way if I purchased, what I thought was, a new car and then something like this happens with so little miles on it. It just makes the object feel tainted.
Good luck to those that do aquire this hardship.

Usually it's 3 strikes before claiming "lemon" so you might have to wait it out and see what happens. In fact, I'll make a stretch and say it's not the trans. I think it's the turbo lag.
I have the same problem and have gotten used to it. I actually use it to my advantage. The buck after lag puts me ahead of the pack and I like that. But I've never driven your car, so I don't know for sure.

Yeah I would suggest going online and checking out your states lemon law specifics if you are gonna look into that.
