I'm amazed some people are getting such good fuel economy. Generally I drive in a town setting and average about 15 mpg. On a lengthy highway trip with little or no traffic I can get up to 24. The '88 Tsi that this replaced had a bigger older engine running the same boost pressure with a 16G and did slightly better with fuel. I've used 93 octane Sunoco exclusively with both cars. With today's precise manufacturing I'm sure the 2.0 could be 5x as efficient as it is in practice. That's not what they want. What surprises me though is the wide disparity between individual vehicles.

Do you have a 2.oT or a 3.8? Also, both GC's are recommended regular unleaded. Once modding starts, thats when the medium to premium level fuel can be used. Im using 89 (regular here in Louisiana) and my 2.0T R spec is getting about 28 on the hwy and 23/24.5 in the city. In still in break in miles and the city I live in is basically a STOP sign village...literally every 15 to 30 yards.
