    Default RB26dett SWAP!!!

    Anybody, i need help please!

As i was looking for some power in my 2.0t but i want it to be reliable... so i was thinking... anybody thing that will be feasable to swap a RB26dett from a '95 R33 skyline which is one the most reliable engine to modify! exactly my goal! Something im not gonna be affraid when thrown big power at

Dont get me wrong, the 2.0t look like an awesome engine but.... do i really find out the hard way that it wasn't a reliable engine to modify.... and dont forget, the nickname Godzilla does exist for the RB26

i have two choice right now.... either invest 20 000$ in my genesis in the next three years OR buy one of these Complete engine for the sum of 20 000 right now and throw that under the hood

    What you guys think?

You should get some measurements and find out if it'll even fit. Also check your bell housing pattern to see if your tranny will mount up, since you most likely can't use the AWD version due to obvious reasons. You'll also have to make sure you've got enough cooling for that I6 so you'll need to pick up a thicker rad. And a new intercooler since ours can't handle one turbo let alone 2.

Not trying to be a downer but I've looked into doing this too, but I was able to find a RB26DETT for 9 grand with ECU and only ~40,000 miles on it. So I hope that 20k is factoring in any custom fabbing that may be required.

If you dumped $20,000 into your Genesis 2.0t you could easily get a fully built 500+ HP setup going. Check out the Tunist Genesis Coupe in Korea. Most parts were fabricated by System Upgrade.

The Theta 1.5 (I refuse to call it either a 1 or a 2 since it's truely neither) is a specialty block for the GC. It's highly durable so long as appropriate mods are taken into consideration. I've NEVER seen a block specific failure. It's always been someone trying to run 300whp with stock internals or cranking their boost to 25psi with no supporting mods.
Mod for over kill and tune it for reliability and you'll get a strong performer that can DD.

Another thing that's usually forgotten in big builds is cooling. Upgrade your rad, add an oil cooler and vent the hood (couple of washers has worked wonders for quite a few modders so far).

I've read that there is oil injector at the bottom of the piston to cool them down is that true?

piston and rod WILL get change, Rad will get change for my old truck one (nice unit that i pay big buck for a 7.3 turbodiesel so i think it would be enough to cool down a gas 2.0t lol) all the measurment are taken and YES it will fit (a bit thicker thats is but im planning on putting smaller electric fan (double) on it

how much and how hard an oil cooler is to pay? to install?

The Theta 1.5 does have oil injectors for cooling.

Oil cooler is just another rad, cept built a little different. Since you'll be going big, go with the CP-E setup, Power Steering cooler, Oil Cooler and Lower Rad bracket all in one. It's so you can completely remove the OEM intercooler. Genesis Coupe 2.0T FicR

You can pick up the non-supplied Oil Cooler Adapter Plate from Glowshift, which also happens to be a good place for guages, but again, if you're going big then get a uNavi with Virtual Gauge so it's an all in one that reads right from your ECU.

Ohhh if I had the money the car I would build... alas.. piece by piece it is.
