un...there is always going to be inhert lag...what do you mean about lag? the oem turbo has almost none....

but to anwser the question....downpipe and full exhuast (correct size that is...depending on power levels...2.5 should be good)

perhaps what i ment is how to make it kick in faster, the bigger turbo kicks in around 2500 and 3000. im planning on buying poweraxel and cp-e exhaust. maybe that would help? oh i also have a highflow cat

I heard that making some adjustments to your wastegate actuator can help the turbo spool better and hold boost longer. The guys from Forge had some good tips on this in the past.

I been reading up a little on this ECU reflash mod this moves the Rev limiter up to like 7800RPMs correct?
but umm the rod starts floating at 7200 RPM +. Engines will pop. valve springs can't handle the Rate per minute. The weak stock springs will want to bounce once when its actually supposed to compress 2 times. if that makes sense.......?

Pull out that weed-eater motor & drop in the 3.8. That get rid of your lag.

Is your car an automatic or manual? I have a Rspec turbo and if Im cruising on the hwy and feel like bobbing and weaving all I have to do is down shift to 4th ( 60mph in 6th gear, once in 4th should bring you to 5 K on the tach.) and away I go!!!. If at a stand still, rev to about 4300 rpm and drop the clutch for optimum launch (Traction Control off of course). That should get ur tubro nice and spooled for a low fish tail take off. But if you want a simple way to get quicker spool up get a air intake and cat back, two simple mods that don't require a tune and will give you almost instant power.

Oh and Oversoul, I'd be happy to run your 3800 gt on an autocross anytime. Friendly competition of course.

also, please don't do what some kid where I live did. Took a Ebay programmer and upped his boost ( factory engine) to 20psi. Under 10K miles and already blew the engine and tranny. As a Hyundai car sales man Im fine with him doing that cause that means I get to eat steak for dinner but as a GC lover it burns my soul to see that loser destroy a great car.
