Megs, you're right, many of us have done stupid things in cars we own. I will quickly admit that there have been times in this car and previous cars that I have not been a safe driver. However, I'm never going to get on a forum and boast about it.

I find this thread to have really gone away from what this forum is really about, when did people get so hostile? She had a small street race, was it safe? No. Was she feeling proud of her car for doing so well against something that cost twice as much? Yes.
Cut her some slack, she wasn't bragging so to speak, she wasn't telling people to go out and repeat what she did, she was just saying how well a 2.0 handled the G35.

yo can we stick to the topic of Genesis 2.0T vs Infiniti G35? I didn't come here to gain another parent. Pmastron, If you don't race that's great but don't pull the guilt card or talk down on anyone for doing it themselves. we all have our own lives to live our own ways.
Go Coupe!
yelling at Pmastron is like poking a bear with a stick... might seem like a good idea first but when you're crying cause your arm got ripped off you only got yourself to blame.

Golden let me tell you a story. 1984 on Rt 109 on Long Island. My friend in his 68 Road Runner with a 440 was racing a Chevelle. I don't know what the Chevelle had. It was 1:30 in the morning, the road was flat and straight. My friend was ahead by a couple car lengths when a car came out of a side road and was t-boned by the road runner. When everything stopped I pulled a 14 year old girl out of the car. She was in bad shape. Her mother was still in the driver seat. She didn't make it. My friend was found about 50 feet from his car. The guy is the Chevelle was such a dick he took off. That night 3 people died from a stupid race on a street.
So when you tell me to stay on topic. I am!
I just hope you aren't so stupid to think something like this couldn't happen to you. My friend was 20, the girls mother was 37, and she was 14.
And NO! You aren;t a good enough driver to avoid what you can't see. It's cheap, race on a track!
With all due respect Pmstron, I fully understand where you're coming from, but your argument honestly isn't going to change anything at all. People know the risks, and that makes it all the more exciting. I'm guilty of redlight racing, but I only do it when I'm one of the first cars at the light (which I usually am lol) So there's nothing in front of me to put into harms way....except maybe a couple ducks having sex in the middle of the road...ugh. Anyway, as aforementioned; nobody thinks they're invincible, if they do, they deserve to slowly die in a fire. This is a totally different generation, you may not agree with the changes that are going on, but they're happening, and they'll continue to happen.
Pmastron, you know I'm nothing but respect for those who deserve it, you've got your reasons for being a hard ass about street racing, I've got mine, but I do believe that once you've had your say and people are ignorant enough to ignore you, you've done what you can do.
I am sorry about your loss though, I've lost many friends too, only one to street racing.
