One misstatement. I have never raced this car. I will. On a track, but so far I haven't I've had Mustangs, Camaro's, G35/37's and more pull up next to me. I have never felt the urge to put my foot down. WAY too many variables on the street. I have pulled hard in first, and second. Once I hit the speed limit I come off the gas. Your statement said the G35 pulled away in 3rd, but didn't lose you. I don't see where you let off. I hope you don't become a statistic

Well in this topic no racing is safe... even on a strip... you can spin off into a wall at a strip. Throw peices into the crowd... just never safe to race... Time to sell my genny for a hybrid...

yeah they took off in third, sorry if i didn't write i stopped racing at that point. And you race to, you pull off on 1st and 2nd and isn't racing a steady or rapid onward movement?

No it's not racing to pull hard thought 1st and second. It's racing to have a car next to you that either challenged you or vise versa. Take your car to County Line on a Friday night. Bring a helmet, and race all you want. Get times, have fun. Do it where it's safe

Yea pulling hard in 1st and 2nd is dangerous as anything... You should look up those street racing stats... most street racing goes bad right at the start because the people driving cant controll their cars... As you mentioned the mustang Ive seen this happen alot of times in mustangs... They floor it with their shitty cars with a good amount of power and just wind up fish tailing up to like 30-40mph and then lose their back end completely and off they road they go...

I got a track because I beleive if you have a car with balls it should be able to stop itself and turn itself... Street racing is an issue with teenagers who just barely started driving who know nothing about how to handle a car at 10mph let alone at 60. Id like to see the stats for accidents with drivers over the age of 30...

You can still lose control at speed limits too. Im just defending myself. But when I get the chance to go to a strip I will.

You'd be hard pressed to find stats for over 30, because most don't race on the street. 1/4 mile tracks are all over the place. Have fun drag race all you want. track your success and stats. ALL street racing crashes are because the driver can't handle his/her car.

Meg if you plan to race, please stay out of Plantation. thanks

I dont see how having another car next to you changes anything? If you drive fast you are taking on a must higher responsiblity no matter what... Cars are dangerious period thats why you have to get a license... tho I beleive that requirement should be set alot higher... Bad drivers are going to get in accidents wether they are grannying or if they are racing... there is no reason that speed limits couldnt be alot higher then they are (with exception to 25mph while going through a town) and things still be completely safe the issue is i would say 50% of people driving arnt really aware of how to drive properly and unfortainly probly make up a large part of the people speeding and racing... (It scares the shit out of me when I see a mini van doing 90 on the highway even tho I do 90-100 all the time... my car is built for it...)

There is no reasons on a clear 45mph road that you cant do a 0-100 pull safetly... but giving the right people... they will probly still end that pull in an accident because they just dont know how to do it... also by clear I mean away from houses and buildings too... Like a back road or a country road... no risk of people jumping out and so on...

Also BTW I do acellerate from lights and usaully stop at no more then 10 above speed limit and settle down another 5mph to only 5 above... If someone wanted to race me at light i would probly do the same and then sit and hope a cop was up ahead ready to grab him as he flew by... but still anything can be done responsibly...

After this post im not going to post again on this thread. I didn't mean to make anyone upset or start anything and I don't feel I have to defend myself. As I've stated before I didn't buy this car to race and im a great driver. And keep track of you stats on that pulling hard out of 1st and 2nd as well.
    Thanks for the advise pmastron
