Default Could after market part makers make a top mounted IC

I was browsing the internet bored at work and a stumbled onto this.

That intercooler looks amazing... I would think you could fit something bigger in there too. I was courious if any of our venders (like Forge maybe) would give an intercooler like this a try.

The radiator would need to be relocated

Millen's car is a V6 not a 4cyl. So far only FMIC options are front mount

Thats definately a 2.0T in the picture... and I know theres aftermarket FMIC but I was wondering if this style could be produced. I dont think you would have to move the radiator. The air that goes throw the lower opening (normaly where the FMIC is) will still flow throw the radiator. Pretty much this makes a switch between uper and lower openings. Plus it directs the air straight through. I would think a vented hood would be needed for it tho.

I would do that in a heart beat.. shorten your piping and remove some bends, that looks like a fairly large intercooler too so deffinately ready for some other upgrades

I bet the car is so much lighter without all that body stuff too.

Millen's car is the 2.0T. His wastegate was stuck open last season at Wall Speedway

... and that's not really a top mount. That is part of a v-mount setup where the radiator is located at an angle below the intercooler. It makes "v" shape which air can be diverted into by use of the aluminum sheets, making sure the air will pass through both and not take the easy route around the sides.

Snoopy and coupegirl are seeing what I am saying... I mean Im removing my stuck air intake peices anyways what a great thing to put in there. Thats seems like a very good location for a intercooler. Blocks alot less of the radiator and is ducted right in. Plus like Snoopy said alot less piping = faster boost.

I know we got some vender connections here... Forge and Ark still dont have a Intercooler upgrade yet. This would deffinately give them a point of differnce over other intercoolers being offered.
