    Default Mod info

Hopefully some one can help me out here....i want to get as much out of this stock turbo as possible....i understand getting a poweraxel tune...that will take care of the ECU's boost cut if im not mistaken....but does that mean that the PSI will increase as well..or it will remain around 14 or 15...what else is there to do to increase boost...i also feel like getting a module is necassary since i can return it to stock mode when getting work done covered by my warranty...but is that an extra $800 on top of the poweraxel tune or is that standard with a tune? As you can see I im in need of some direction...so help me out!

I'm not sure anyone knows exactly what is modified except PowerAxel but they increase boost (19-20psi peak, falling to about 14 at redline), adjust fuel, and timing. You won't want to increase boost much over their tune since their timing and fuel adjustments are based on the levels of boost in their tune. Tightening the wastegate actuator for a couple more PSI shouldn't cause any harm, but it's still technically not tuned for that much boost.

IIRC the reflash with box runs $700 and if you send your ECU into them it costs $300-$400. Purchasing the box, as you mentioned, will allow you to easily switch back to stock. It will also give you the ability to store additional tunes if you take your car to a PA authorized tuner.

You can get some big power out of the stock turbo by going with an intake, exhaust and tune. Also new wastegate/bov might help as well.

The PowerAxel box contains the performance tune, a stock tune, and a tune with just rev limit and speed limit removal. The box flashes the new tune into the stock ECU. If you don't buy the box you have to send your ECU into PowerAxel to get them to flash the new tune into it. So $700 gets you box and retune, $300-$400 gets you just retune.

Once the new tune is flashed/uploaded to the factory ECU, you remove the box from the obd2 port, so it doesn't have to stay connected.
