    Default Revmatch Automatic?

I have a 2.0 automatic and I hate the annoying jerk motion you get from engine braking when you downshift in the manual mode. So I started revmatching in the pause between when you downshift and the gear actually engages and my friend said I shouldn't be doing that. Is he right?

I have never tried rev-matching an automatic... I don't know what it would do.. your computer always knows what rpm you're doing, if you go out of the rpm band it should just hesitate the gear engagement untill the computer thinks it's safe... but I dunno..

your bringing up the rmps so the computer has less work to do. your doing the right thing taking the stress off the clutch. I didn't like automatic, to slow so i got the manual.

yeah, I didn't think it could harm it. I've only ever driven one manumatic transmission, never bothered to try rev-matching since it was a loaner. After I posted I realised that he was in manual mode doing it, cause in auto mode it should just try to go forward if you press the pedal.
